Paint correction
Paint correction removes swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation from your vehicle's clear coat, restoring a smooth, reflective finish. This process involves machine polishing with progressively finer compounds and pads to level imperfections while preserving the paint layer.
Preparation steps took to ensure optimal results:
Clean the entire vehicle thoroughly to remove contaminants that could cause additional scratches during polishing. Tape off trim, emblems, and rubber seals to protect them from compounds. Clay bar the paint to eliminate embedded particles that affect polishing efficiency. Inspect the paint depth to determine correction intensity needed. Mask sensitive areas and windows to prevent overspray and damage.
These steps are necessary because contaminants trapped under the polishing pad create new scratches, while proper masking prevents costly damage to trim and glass. Measuring paint thickness ensures we don't over-correct and thin the clear coat. A clean, prepped surface allows compounds to work effectively, delivering maximum gloss and depth to your paint while maintaining its integrity for long-term protection.
